Raleigh County Community Action Association offers a variety of programs to help individuals gain and maintain permanent housing. RCCAA Housing Programs are aimed at eliminating homelessness through rental assistance, re-housing assistance, housing search and placement, and case management. Our goal is to improve WV communities by helping people help themselves.

As a national Fair Housing agency, RCCAA operates in accordance with the Fair Housing Amendments Act, which states:

In advertising the sale or rental of housing
In the financing of housing
In the provision of real estate brokerage services

Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project
This program targets youth and young adults ages 18-24. Participants are first placed into Transitional Housing with intensive case management services. Once the participant has gained some stability the participant is then enrolled into RRH, both programs can provide assistance for up to 24 months combined. To be eligible for this program the individual applying for services must meet HUD’s definition of homelessness categories 1,2, &4. (CAT1,CAT2,CAT4)
Permanent Supportive Housing
Permanent supportive housing is an intervention that combines affordable housing assistance with intensive supportive services to address the needs of chronically homeless (12 months of homelessness) individuals with a diagnosed disability. To be eligible for this program the individual applying for services must meet category 1 & 4 of HUD’s definition of homelessness. (CAT1,CAT4)
Auto Repair
Raleigh County Community Action Association, Inc. provides car repair assistance for individuals who need vehicle repair. The repair must be necessary to keep the vehicle on the road and pass a WV state inspection, this grant does not provide assistance for cosmetic issues. The vehicle must be legally registered, insured, and pass WV state inspection. Additionally, the driver must have a valid Drivers License and the household must meet our income guidelines. Applications are prioritized based on employment, childcare, and proximity to the New River Transit Bus Routes. This program is a one-time grant opportunity per household, individuals must also sign a waiver to receive this service.
Dental Grant Services
This grant offers financial assistance to those in need of dental work that is not covered by their insurance. This could include but not limited to dentures, implants, crowns, cavities, fillings, and cleanings. The individual applying for services must have a valid ID, SS Card, and last 30 days of income for the household.
